TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Vanakkam Voice 2026 singing competition is organized by VanakkamMalaysia DotCom Sdn Bhd (“organizer”) for its OTT platform and brand, Vanakkam Maxx.

The competition aims to discover, nurture and showcase talented singers from across Malaysia while providing participants with professional mentorship, studio recording opportunities and nationwide exposure through the Vanakkam Maxx OTT platform.

2. ELIGIBILITY

2.1 The competition is open to Malaysian citizens only.

2.2 Participants must be 18 years of age and above.

2.3 Employees, representatives, judges, mentors, organizing committee members and immediate family members of Vanakkam Maxx and Vanakkam Malaysia are not eligible to participate unless otherwise approved by the organizer.

2.4 Each participant is permitted to submit one (1) entry only.

2.5 The competition is open to solo performances only.

2.6 Participants may perform any Tamil song of their choice.

3. PRIZE STRUCTURE

Winners of Vanakkam Voice 2026 will stand a chance to win attractive cash prizes and other exciting rewards awarded by the organizer.

The prize categories are as follows:

Champion
First Runner-Up
Second Runner-Up
Consolation Prize Winner(s)

The organizer reserves the right to amend the prize structure should circumstances require.

All prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for any alternative unless otherwise determined by the organizer.

4. REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION

4.1 Registration opens on 15 July 2026 and closes on 14 August 2026.

4.2 All registrations must be submitted via the official registration platform provided by the organizer.

4.3 Participants are required to complete all mandatory registration details accurately.

4.4 Incomplete, inaccurate or late submissions will not be accepted.

4.5 Each participant is permitted to submit only one (1) audition video.

Only shortlisted participants will be contacted by the organizer for the subsequent stages of the competition.

5. VIDEO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Participants shall comply with the following requirements:

Maximum 90-second audition video (must not exceed 90 seconds)
MP4 format
Horizontal (Landscape) orientation only
Recorded directly using the camera function of a mobile phone, DSLR, mirrorless camera or video camera
Raw singing performance only
No background music, karaoke track, instrumental accompaniment, programmed music or musical instruments
Solo performance only
Participant’s face must be clearly visible throughout the recording
Video must be recorded in one continuous take (no cuts)
No editing, filters or visual effects
Clear audio quality and adequate lighting

6. PROHIBITED CONTENT

The following are strictly prohibited:

Auto-Tune
Pitch correction
Voice enhancement software
AI-generated vocals
Voice cloning technology
Lip-syncing
Dubbing
Audio editing
Video editing
Visual effects
Filters
Any application or software that alters the participant’s natural singing performance.

Any submission found to have violated the above requirements shall be automatically disqualified.

7. JUDGING CRITERIA

Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Vocal Ability
Pitch & Tone
Musical Expression
Pronunciation
Overall Performance

The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding, and no correspondence or appeal shall be entertained.

8. COMPETITION FORMAT

The competition shall comprise the following stages:

Online Registration
Audition Submission
Shortlisting of Participants
Workshops
Studio Recording Sessions
Selection of Finalists
Grand Final

The organizer reserves the right to amend the competition format where necessary.

9. ORGANISER’S RIGHTS

The organizer reserves the right to:

Amend these terms & conditions at any time
Modify the competition format or schedule
Extend or shorten the registration period
Reject any submission that does not comply with these terms & conditions
Suspend, postpone or cancel the competition due to unforeseen circumstances

The organizer’s decision on all matters relating to the competition shall be final.

10. COPYRIGHT & CONTENT RIGHTS

10.1 By submitting an entry, participants confirm that the audition video is their own performance and that the submission does not infringe any third-party rights.

10.2 Participants grant Vanakkam Maxx a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to publish, reproduce, edit, distribute, broadcast, stream, archive and promote the submitted audition videos across Vanakkam Maxx, Vanakkam Malaysia and all associated digital, broadcast and social media platforms without further approval or additional compensation.

10.3 All audition videos, studio recordings, photographs, video recordings, promotional materials and any other content created during Vanakkam Voice 2026 shall remain the exclusive property of Vanakkam Maxx.

11. WORKSHOPS, RECORDING SESSIONS & OFFICIAL ACTIVITIES

Shortlisted participants shall attend all workshops, studio recording sessions and official activities organized by Vanakkam Maxx.

Failure to attend any compulsory session without reasonable justification may result in disqualification or replacement by another participant at the organizer’s discretion.

12. DISQUALIFICATION

The organizer reserves the right to immediately disqualify any participant who:

Provides false, misleading or inaccurate information
Submits more than one entry
Uses prohibited editing software or AI technologies
Breaches any provision of these terms & conditions
Attempts to influence the judging process unfairly
Conducts themselves in a manner that may damage the reputation of Vanakkam Maxx or Vanakkam Malaysia

13. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

13.1 Participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of these terms & conditions.

13.2 The organizer shall not be responsible for incomplete submissions, technical failures, internet disruptions or circumstances beyond its control.

13.3 The organizer reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants.

13.4 Any breach of these terms & conditions may result in immediate disqualification.

13.5 In the event of any dispute, the organizer’s decision shall be final and binding.

13.6 These terms & conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

14. PRIVACY

14.1 Participants consent to the collection, processing and use of their personal information by Vanakkam Maxx for the administration, management, promotion and operation of Vanakkam Voice 2026.

14.2 Personal information collected shall be handled in accordance with the applicable laws of Malaysia and used solely for purposes relating to the competition.

14.3 By participating in the competition, participants consent to the use of their name, photographs, video recordings and related promotional materials by Vanakkam Maxx for publicity, promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation.
